Donation based event
Join us for a day of silent retreat in Seed & Blossoms, Youghal, facilitated by Marjó Oosterhoff and Nicola Morey
We will practise mindfulness in stillness and in movement; being present, as best we can, for whatever shows itself in and around us. Our mind and heart will open in unique ways while practising in a formal way, in a group, that would not be possible in the busyness of our everyday lives. We will discover moments of stillness and peace, even in the midst of the mind’s stories and concoctions.
Compassion practices will also be included in the day, so that we get to experience a heart that is wide open, connected and joyful. We will generate compassion for ourselves and for others; for those we engage with in our lives, and for those we don’t know personally.
And even on a short retreat like this, we get a taste of the equanimity and contentment that arise when we realise that we are already completely and fully enough as we are.
Marjó and Nicola’s gentle guidance focuses on practices that are completely doable, and that we can bring ‘home’ into our everyday lives. The day is suitable for beginners and non-beginners.
Cost: €30 to cover costs of room rental and other expenses. Marjó and Nicola are offering their guidance on a donation basis Times: 10.30 am – 4.30 pm Please bring a packed lunch. Teas and coffees will be provided.

The Gut Instinct: Microbiota & Flower Mandala Making
Join Mayumi on a journey of exploring the world of microbiota and the unique ways to connect with them through fun practical exercises and creating flower mandala.
We think we know who we are. But the recent studies show that we consist of just 10% human cells and the rest are made up by microbiota (bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites)! It means that we are mostly made up by little creatures that have their own intelligence and purposes in life...which hopefully benefits our wellness and purposes in life!
In return for being a good host for the microbiota, they mind our physical and mental wellness.
Recently, we've been finding out more about how our microbiota affect our mood, feelings and decision making.
If you would like to be a better friend with them and listen to what they want to say, this is the workshop for you! (Yes, they do speak to you. But you need to know how they communicate to you to understand what they say!)
On the day, we will learn the facts about microbiota and explore the unique ways to communicate with them through fun exercises and body works. Then, we will make an individual flower mandala as a manifestation of our internal world. As you disassemble each plants into small pieces and create into a mandala, you might see the resembles in the process of your digestion: making foods into small pieces (macro nutrients to micro nutrients) to feed our cells to sustain life. It's the very alchemy we conduct in our body daily.
In the process of making flower mandala, our 'gut instinct' will guide us to where there are no preconceived plans or designs ever made before. And it is ephemeral as in everything in this earthy life we lead.
If this resonates with you, I'm looking forward to seeing you on 26th April at the exquisite Seed & Blossoms Wellness Centre!
The cost 25 euro includes the plants for making flower mandala and refreshments afterwards.
